Nice find, but how do I know that what I perceive outside my body exists? I'm not saying as an illusion or abstraction, but that reality itself is false, like the idea we are in the matrix or a video game character

I've contemplated that before, on a level of interest, but nothing ever came out of it for me. You can say it is false or it isn't, either way what you say it is it isn't. Trying to make purpose from it is futile. Understanding general semantics helps. If you think it is false and that existence is a matrix or a hologram of sorts then it is an illusion, but even if it is that, your only able to perceive what your sensory system allows you to perceive, in which case you can only experience some of it. I would also check out the "mechanistic point of view" it says that nothing is self activating.
