Shotguns are going to be the new Autorifles

After looking at a lot of the TTK reveal gameplay in pvp it's safe to say shotguns are taking a big nerf maybe the current felwinter like shotguns will be decent in normal crucible but for ToO and competitive playlists , I fear the new TTK shotguns at max level will be underpowered the range looks pathetic to the point you can hold their hands rather than kill them I'm scared that the reaction to them being OP has made them utterly useless which is exactly what happened with Autorifles now this is coming from a shotgun whore admittedly, but I believe shotguns were only OP due to small map design and crazy movement mechanics like blink and slide both made gap closing skill-less and too easy they're my favourite weapon to use in all FPS I don't want to see them nerfed to oblivion save the shotguns for us shit-blam!-s who don't know how to snipe for crap

  • definately need a nerf in pvp (mainly the newer shotguns), but rather they leave it alone for Pve

  • I am hoping they go back to how they were at release. Only useful if the barrel is in the enemies chest. That's how I got used to them and that's how I still use them.

  • I hope they are cut back in all departments. . In general they don't work like a shotgun. . But they should set them so there balanced for pve and pvp. . At present there just the weapon of choice for people happy with 25/25 in crucible and think there great because of there score. . Only a few skilled players use them properly . The other users in general just ruin the game for everyone else with there lack of ability while they blink/slide round and round a map . . .

    • Just spec a shotgun like dry rot with full auto. I love my secret handshake. Short range yes, but shotguns need to be melee range only for OHK. I've gotten used to firing twice at anything past melee range, but it fires so fast it doesn't matter. Great for taking out groups tho because of it's insane rate of fire

      • The problem to are the maps. I remember getting decent sized maps in the rotation. Now pfffft they do it purpose trying to close the skill gap with ppl who hardly rely on shot guns and exotic HC. I honestly am glad to be separating myself from the meta. Sorry my man ull learn how to make it work.

          Honestly guns like fellwinters and matador are fine to me in terms of stats. So I'm fine with year 2 equivalents

          • Thank heavens. Honestly, shotguns are simply too easy to use. They are by far the easiest weapons to get kills with. I'm really sick of seeing 5-8 people using only a shotgun in crucible matches. I realize some people love shotguns, but at this point I hope they get nerfed like auto rifles did. I'd be happy to see a shotgun-less crucible for a while.

              • They could leave the Shotty alone if they made it were you could not use it with Blink. Blink is the real problem.

              • You are obviously a skilled player who can be successful with other weapons. I don't have much respect for the typical 'weapon most used' shotgun guy, but honestly they keep my k/d from going further south. I lose almost all gunfights with primaries. However, three out of four times someone runs at me with a shotgun I melt them with a fusion rifle. My already poor k/d will miss shotgun guy.

                  • Shotguns should be a destroyer weapon at point blank range......that's it. A person should only equip them when turning corners or when your in a firefight and primary ammo is emptied.

                    • The range is what causes OP shotguns. In my opinion this is how it should work from now on If a shotgun has high impact it must have a low range stat. If a shotgun is low impact it can have a high range stat. This would no longer make OP shotguns.

                        • If we see a variety of map sizes then none of these nerds would really be necessary. You could have different load outs for different ranges and be fine
