Let's just hope Thorn takes a little bit longer than the rest to update... I'm looking forward to the next Iron Banner(s) without it being so prevalent.

The Last World will be there tho
-
But it's getting put in its proper place (short range) at least.
-
It's really not that prevalent in this iron banner so far. I have saw more variety than normal
-
I hear ya. I typically don't bitch about Thorn. But I was in a IB match yesterday where ALL TWELVE PEOPLE were using it. EVERYONE in the match was using the same damn weapon. It was nuts. At the end of the match I had a better understanding for why so many people want to take Thorn and break it over a knee.

Last night I played probably the worst round of pvp in my life. The opposing team was one gunslinger, one void walker, and 4 defender titans. They'd take the middle base on a map and pop 4 bubbles spawning orbs for days. It was terrible because that meant infinite bubbles and infinite golden gun/ nova bomb combos as well so charging the bubbles with a suicide grenade was out because golden gun kept us a distance. Of course I had a mentally lacking team I was playing with and they'd try to charge it and obviously not even get close but once in a while they'd pull one out of the bubbles and I got some kills barely breaking even. They would win because my team would keep attacking the bubbles and obviously continue to die over and over with no kills themselves so even though we held 2/3 of the bases all round we would lose because their kill count was insane compared to even me who was top player on our team. Even my golden gun could only take down 1/2 the bubbles never reaching the people in the center and they'd just re-pop them anyway... It was genius because the middle base always lures in enemies and it left them completely invulnerable to attack. The only way we would have won is if we had held the bases and left them alone to their center one which my team just didn't do...

Edited by Money Collector: 8/29/2015 1:58:47 AMI did that once with 3 titans with crest of alpha lupi and 3 bladedancers

It's just an intense tactic that may as well be setting up a fortress with nuclear missiles as it's offensive capabilities. It's a bit cheap if you ask me but can only be done by a fireteam so I suppose if you're going solo like I was its rare and very hard to counter but if you have a fireteam you can communicate and counter it with a few specials in tandem as well.
-
Yeah that---or chaining your own supers as a team is the only way to beat that cheap tactic.
-
Yeah but my team just wanted to rush the bubbles haha. Perhaps if I had a fireteam to communicate with.
-
Yup. I've sworn off PvP until the patch. It's just so full of Thorn anymore.
-
I want that new Silimar's Wrath... I think that will be a fun weapon to play with after the weapons patch. Otherwise I'd be sitting out this Iron Banner.
-
I have a Silimar's Wrath with High Caliber Rounds. I think it should be fun to piss people off with!

Thorn is getting a nerf. It will take 3 headshots to kill like most Hand Cannons of its archetype. The exotic-ness of the weapon comes in the fact it can also get a kill with 3 body shots on a target with low armor.
-
Exactly. Between the nerf and lower damage output, we are unlikely to see it at all in the next Iron Banner! Once its damage is increased, it will pop up again, though probably not as much as it is used now.
-
It will still be among the best hand cannons because of its range and consistent 3 shot capability. The only problem is most legendary hand cannons will be rendered unusable.

Amen brother!!!!!
