Not really they get a tiny damage boost but the damage drop off is at pretty close range.

True but that's not the point. They should be effective at better range than shotguns. According to the images they showed damage drops of not too far outside melee range.

Looked like mid range to me in those pics. Remember the shotguns are gonna be super close range with the patch also. So no more sniping with shot package
