OP, I've been playing MMO's since they first evolved from text-based adventures on the old BBS boards.
Trust me, Destiny [u]will never be[/u] an MMO.

And that's fine. I don't want destiny to be an MMO. But I don't like Bungie punishing us with MMO conventions that we don't want. And people saying well that's what all MMO's do so it's fine.

That's the thing though. Those people pushing the idea that Bungie is forcing MMO conventional mechanics into Destiny, really have no idea what they're talking about. Half the bullshit they claim "MMO's do it this way too!!!" is objectively false, and has been proven as false many, many times. Trust me, from someone who has played some of the most legendary MMO's and is still quite enthralled and active in four MMO's, Bungie isn't pushing any MMO mechanics on anyone. If you have to classify Destiny beyond the FPS genre, I'd say it only also fits into the Action/RPG genre. But it is most definitely not an MMO, and only has the most basic of RPG elements.
