You can get unlimited marks per week. How else would they limit it?

It's like Glimmer no cap but especially when TBD came out you had to go and spend time Grinding for Glimmer instead of enjoying the other overly repetitious parts of the game. Not a huge deal but just makes the game feel more grindy.

I don't think they're doing this to prolong the grind, but more so to see how it goes when players have more freedom to earn items
-
They can give freedom to earn with I higher cap, it doesn't have to be one or the other....
-
Maybe the could have limited it with a cap that at least matches the pre TTK .

Isn't this kinda what people wanted? Everyone was saying that they wanted the weekly limit removed for weekly activities. Isn't this a start?
-
Agreed. I don't think it's a bad thing. But that's it's shared means you are going to have to do a lot more activities to replenish just like Glimmer which I think is their goal.

Edited by thomwithah: 8/25/2015 3:27:00 PMYes, it's "kinda" what people wanted. It may be worth the price too. That said, let's not overlook the price. Currently that price is a more than 83% reduction in our marks bank limit. They could have provided the freedom to earn unlimited and maintained our bank limit on marks. Instead, the reduced our mark bank cap drastically. It's equivalent to a glimmer cap reduction to a max to about 4168 as far as a direct percentage reduction. If it wasn't for the ship that would cost more than that bank limit, it'd be a close comparison. The most expensive Mark items are expected to be about 75% of the bank limit, or 150 marks. 75% of a Glimmer bank limit of 4168 is 3126. If the ship cost 3126 and your glimmer cap was 4168, would it be OK with this because they would allow us to earn unlimited glimmer? Now, the ship isn't something you would buy often in comparison to buying legendary weapons with marks. To me, it's strange that some people are so willing to accept this huge reduction in bank size without so much as a care. Again, unlimited earning is great. Nobody has said otherwise, myself included. The issues of unlimited marks earning and bank size are separate from each other. It was possible for Bungie to introduce unlimited marks earning, and sharing across characters, without reducing our bank limit at all, and certainly without reducing it by more than 83%. You asked if it's a start. I'd say it's the start of Bungie offloading game design problems to players through limited choice and control. It's definitely not the start of something I want to see more of. Bungie took something, namely mark bank limit and reduced it by more than 83%.That makes me wonder, "Was it to large before, or, is it to small now? I don't think you'll find anyone who has yet said the 1200 mark bank limit was to large..... I know I didn't. Did you? I
