You can tell the age of a Destiny player by how pissy he/she is over leaving their gear behind. It's like they've never played any MMORPG style game before (inb4 telling me Destiny isn't an MMO - Please just stfu, we know). Gear gets left behind in your vault in all of these games. You break it out when you want to be nostalgic or just run around in the world killing lower level stuff. If you want to use the same gun for the entire life of a game please sell your Destiny disc and go back to COD.

Destiny ISNT an MMO. Telling someone to shut up when they bring up a valid point doesn't make it untrue. DESTINY IS NOT A MMO. Not when you can only have a max of 16 players. Try again bub.

It is an mmo it's on a smaller scale then something like WoW but it is still an mmo and gear progression is going to be a thing I personally don't want to be using fatebringer or Vision of Confluence in year 10

Edited by m00ninite: 8/20/2015 7:42:14 PMSmfh. Just because it does not have true open world MMO play, does not mean that it is not comparable in almost all other aspects, so how about you get a clue. Also, I never actually called it an MMO and never have. My addition in parenthesis was to silence the BS comments like yours before they bothered trying to tell me that since Destiny isn't a true MMO none of the other developer choices are valid. Move along, child.

"A massively multiplayer online game (MMO or MMOG) is a multiplayer video game which is capable of supporting large numbers of players simultaneously." Sorry, but 16 players isn't "large" unless your a mouse. Come again?

Again, did not say it was an MMO. L2read.

You retards really need to learn the difference between an rpg and an mmo... Destiny is not an mmo, it is an fps rpg.... This shit is -blam!-ing simple.
-
I used the term MMORPG and not once did I say that's what destiny was. Just comparing the game mechanics and development. L2read.

Destiny Durant have mmo rpg mechanics either so to still a moot point. Mmo rpg and rpg are totally different things with a few commonalities

MMORPG is just an MMO that is also an RPG... Destiny has elements of both, while not truly being an MMO, but brings FPS into the mix. Most accurately sure it's an FPSRPG, but it has a persistent world that is somewhat open despite the 16 person limit. Idk why arguing labels matters so much to some of you people. The only point my post makes is that Destiny's game model brings a lot of the exact same mechanics and design as some MMORPG's so it's 100% understandable that gear gets left behind. QQ more.

It takes very little from mmo games at all it DOES enhance and expand multi-player... And mostly I do it because annoying pels over semantics amuses me... Not sure why others do it

They just want an excuse to say they play an MMO. When this is NOT that. Just like the Esurance commercials, "Kinda you, isn't you".
