I hadn't been paying all that much attention. It looks like a cool game... I was pretty dismayed by the graphic downgrade that was pointed out after this past E3. It'll probably be something I pick up after a price drop or during a good sale.

  • That would be best for me to do. Wait and get it cheaper. That way it won't be as much of a waste if I don't like it.

  • When people say that about the graphics, I never care. They've looked the same since last year compared to the last gameplay demo we've seen. And if you're disappointed in that, why didn't you already expect it? It's been 2 years since it was first announced. Graphics (for example, Fallout 4) don't determine how successful the game is. At least for me. If you prefer graphics over a story, go watch some reality TV.

  • It's disappointing to see a graphics downgrade. But it doesn't necessarily take away from the game, unless it's so bad it takes away from the atmosphere. For instance, I still enjoy Watchdogs. The graphics downgrade was pretty bad though... Fortunately for me, as was the case with Aliens Colonial Marines, I never saw the original graphics before I played the game. I honestly wouldn't have noticed except for having stumbled across a YouTube video showing the somewhat drastic differences. The snow that used to be piled up along the road was relegated to a bump map on the surface of the ground for instance (2013-2014 E3 videos). The textures were downgraded as well. Now, I agree with you that graphics don't make the game. I still have lots of favorites from last gen and back into the early 90s. I also realize that the demos that they show are custom built presentation builds designed to show a specific area of the game and specific features. It in no way depicts an accurate portrayal of the final game. Beyond the graphics, I think it was IGN that posted a video after gamescom that bluntly stated "it's not the game you thought it was." It's a tactical squad based RPG, not a FPS game. Honestly, that made me more excited about it. I think it has a lot of potential and it could very well be an amazing game. But I'm starting to agree with some of the angry youtubers (without their vitriol) about games being showcased at a high quality and then downgraded for release. That has nothing to do with preordering though. I'm not ready to fan the flames of that conspiracy yet. It does lead me to feel somewhat cheated by the console manufacturers though. If games are looking as good as they are going to get due to hardware limitations, I feel that we may have all been sold on some pretty weak hardware and the current gen of consoles may be a short one. I'm cool with buying a $500 console every 5 years or so... But if the PS5 comes out in 2017, I'm gonna be kind of miffed.

  • I agree with you on the Tactical Shooter RPG instead of FPS. I love the difference between the two.
