I think this would be cool, but with the new items going with ttk it will make them underpowered in all but pvp.
As they stand now, they are trophies for the original guardians.

I really do like running old gear in crucible tho. Specifically armor. Getting killed by a an old weapon doesn't matter to me much, but I remember seeing a unique armor set for a long time after when I play.

Agreed. They keep telling us not to dismantle anything yet so I'm waiting to hear why that is...
