The Top 5% Should be the Focus Point on Dictating Nerfs in PVP.
- Yes the thread title changed to make the debate more accurate.
- Summary of the old body of content is found below
- With new matchmaking this system will be easier to judge.
[b]NOTE:[/b] By dictating I mean by Bungies view on statistical information among the higher skilled players.
[b]QUESTION:[/b] Why should a player who doesn't understand his class; not understand the line of sights to maps; not understand the mechanics of weapons be a reasonable voice for what needs to be nerfed and what is OP when clearly their level of play is below the curve so everything is OP to them.

I hope when matchmaking changes you only judge PVP from the higher tier players and let the lesser players actually learn to be good.
The only way to actually tell if something is OP is if it's dominating in the higher tier of competitive players which in turn shows there is no counter.

EDIT: Your real KD is found in the Grimoire card Crucible Introduction and is all kills and deaths under every Crucible mode from the start of your game to present so the argument about making a new guardian is irrelevant.
EDIT: So many people think those who have a high KD have a high KD because of Thorn and TLW but it's actually skill and when the meta changes those people will still be on top and make the next weapons look OP.
EDIT: I have played extensively on all 3 guardians. I don't have time to play and constantly grind on all 3 so I kept the class who is best in PVP because that's what I mainly play. If I were to choose a class overall I love Warlock but the Hunter has one skill in PVP that trumps all and that's "Quick Draw".
EDIT: Once Bungie implements skilled matchmaking the game will get better and that's when you ONLY view the higher level matchmaking players. The ones with actual skill and knowledge of weapons who can find counters.
EDiT: yes my total KD from the start of the game is 1.47 so therefore I didn't make this post about me "shocking" so posts directed towards me rather than the topic at hand have all been snuffed out because they are illogical.

They don't, they have detailed statistics we don't have access to, they can tell what needs to be looked at without tears from the scrubs, they have in depth graphs that probably show OP is a fgt and uses blink shotgun and exotic hand cannon.

I only play trails, due to the competitive nature of it. I am top 1% 50 true skill, my opinion, which may not matter, would be to slightly Nerf just a little bit. I do not believe a primary gun should be able to 2 shot u dead. Thorn and tlw are def capable of 2 shots. I think it should be 3 shots. Just enough time to run away from 2 shots and not burn out. My opinion once again

2 RepliesIt's quite easy to see what is OP in Crucible right now cause all the top tier players use those guns/tactics and that's it. There is no real counter to Thorn it is better than any scout rifle and can beat snipers as well. Your whole post is dumb.

1 ReplyI like how this post comes from someone with only 1 character, so you only have knowledge of 33% of PVP. Furthermore you are on Playstation which isn't a competitive console. By your logic all the PVP changes should be approve by the top 10 players on Xbox first because they are the highest tier imaginable.

1 ReplyI am not the best at PVP, so not sure how stock people will put into this but I think some of the problem is the lack of skill based matchmaking. There is little sense matching people who are either new to the game or not that good at crucible, and lumping them in with individuals who are highly skilled. Is it so hard to believe that those less skilled are going to cry nerf when they are getting killed by highly skilled players? Of course not, let them either play on playlists dedicated to them so they can build the skill up, or match them based on skill.

They also gotta cater to the skill-less people so they will keep buying the games. The main point bungie hasnt learned is nobody likes dying without actually doing anything. A lot of crucible now is one or two shots. It isnt fun fir the majority. They needed to change this so it is fun for everyone. That is why a lot of the guns are being reigned in. On the other hand things like blink make this game unique from other fps games. It is a fun mechanic and it is a shame you can not effectively use it in pve due to all the nerfs. Titans complain they din't get blink but they have insane movement speeds and can change that momentum on a dime with shoulder charge. If blink gets nerfed shoulder charge and lift need to get nerfed. Titans shouldn't be able to out run max agility hunters. Once you start doing things like this nerfing mechanics instead of weapon damage the hame just loses its fun and appeal.

Well what if the person with a <1.5 k/d is using something like necrocasm and they keep on getting rekt by TLW should they be able to say Hey TLW is too OP and the necrocasm is to UP. Shouldn't they be able to say that TLW is OP

3 RepliesFind any person with a kd higher than 1.5 and I guarantee you that their loadouts involve exotic handcannons, final round snipers and long-range shotguns. That's why all of that stuff is getting nerfed.
