I earned my Gjallarhorn because I play the game. Everyone who has a Gjallarhorn earned it simply because they played the game. Not because they did some raid for it or played 1million hours but because they played the game and got their guardian to level 20...simple

Playing the lottery is different. The lottery is a gamble. Getting a Gjallarhorn is not. And it's not like only 1 person can "win" a Gjallarhorn at a time.

The lottery is random. Destiny is random through its RNG. One person doesn't win lottery... Multiple people can at any given time. There are no specific tasks a person must do to get a gally. Like you said... You just play the game.
