Probably the fastest way would be run the daily crucible event for 2 motes. Run a full hard Vault of glass which will get you 25-30 ascendent materials which can be changed to motes from the speaker. Then go to xur and trade the motes for coins. Youll end up from 7-10 coins from that plus the 2 from the daily crucible. Then all you need is 1 which is fairly easy to get from engrams from strikes/ public event chests. Or just run vault twice on hard. Either way take u about 1-2 hours to get the coins you need.

I have 300+ coins and 500+ motes I'd swap them all to coins if I could, when are motes going become useful?

Motes are used to roll weapon perks.

There is only so many weapons to re roll, mine just hog my vault space, I'm hoping they become useful in TTK
