Ghorn Analogy to real world

Unless you bought Gallahorn, you didn't "work hard to earn/get" it. You walk into a bestbuy to window shop, and your the lucky 1,000,000th person to walk in. You win a 60" TV. Another guy goes into bestbuy. He saved up money he earned while working, do something, and he's spending it on a 60" TV as s reward for all his hard work. Which is earning? Do you know what this means? It means both people have a 60" TV. Shut up and play the -blam!-ing game.

  • Ok, I agree that you guys earned your Gjallarhorn as much as we did. I won't accept people saying they earned it more than I did. Either none of us earned it or we all earned it however we got it. At the end of the day we all have the weapon.

    • This is the worst analogy I've ever heard of. It could have been as random as something like the following, even though I think mine is better, lol "Hi, I worked so hard on my girlfriend that I finally get to the sex part, I've done everything and it was a time consuming process" or "Hi I've paid 17 strange coins to a whore and now I can -blam!- her. Which one is earned -.- -blam!-ing retarded people everywhere.

    • This analogy doesn't hold up. Destiny is a game you play for fun, competition and achievement. The loot drops are what keeps us grinding for the best gear.

    • I agree but I would tweak it with: Both customers saved up for the 60" TV. One got lucky and won it, the other bought it. They both saved the same amount of money each week for the same number of weeks. One got lucky. I'll let the forum decide which was better: who "earned" it? I'll bet you'll agree they both did. One just got it easier than the other. Just remember they both put in equal work. Yes, I know it's not perfect b/c in Destiny the "lucky" one spent resources. Just deal with the analogy.

      • This isn't an accurate analogy, you earn strange coins too and that's what people are using to buy ghorn. And just to put it out there I have 2 ghorns from rng. One from 28 PoE queens chest and one from a legendary engram.

        • I'm just gonna say this: Everyone of us deserves a Ghorn one way or another. Whether it's xurned or earned, we all get to have it. So quit your bitching and get over it.

Think about the person that is window shopping what if they did that for 300+ times (raids and nightfalls) trying to get the free tv and one day it finally was their time to shine? Now this person could easily buy the TV, but they wanted the joy of winning it. That was how I got mine

                • What about if you have two people working towards an ultimate goal of a raise, one person has worked 10,000 hours and the other person that has only worked 100 hours. The way RNG works here is that both participants are just as likely to receive a raise regardless of their time spent working. So basically you don't have to work hard at all to get great exotics. It's impossible to say you have earned any specific weapon or armor.
