It was extremely rare for people to have 13 strange coins by week 2. Yes it happened, but you had to be a die-hard by that point to even be in a situation to make the decision and if you were that much of a die-hard you were probably going with the exotic armor to boost your level.

Same here. I remember seeing it back then thinking that looks so cool but I have no strange coins and I actually have no idea what or where to acquire them hahaha. I also naively thought Xur was a permanent vendor and that I could buy the thing whenever I figured the game out more.
