I understand the Republican outrage of people [i][u]abusing[/u][/i] welfare, but I wish they would express that same outrage for corporations abusing welfare subsidies or rich billionaires abusing tax loopholes and bank loopholes. It's a problematic double-standard I've noticed among many Repubs in my personal experience.

Exactly. The hypocrisy is real. There are government subsidies that are used as intended, but there also many that are a complete waste of tax dollars. Take the airline industry. Billions of tax payer dollars are given to them, they report billions in profits AND pay close to no taxes, sometimes even get money back. Yet, we are looking at cutting spending on healthcare and vet benefits? Give me a break.
