Its because your currency is inflated due to it being originally set to the value of 1 pound of sterling silver. Which is meaningless now. The relative value of your currency is the same as mine.

Try going into your local currency exchange/travel agent and getting them to agree. As for inflation, it currently stands at 0.1%, not exactly going to drive prices up. However if any of what you said was true, it would affect all versions of the game (and other games). It is only the digital DLC which has a ridiculously high price. The Legendary Edition on disc is actually cheaper.
-
cheaper in what way?
-
Digital DLC for TTK is £39.99 on PSN or Xbox stores (only place you can buy it). Legendary Edition of TTK on disc for PS4 and Xbone is available for as low as £36.85 including shipping. So the standalone DLC is priced £3.14 more than a shipped physical copy which includes vanilla game and all three DLCs. On Xbox 360 and PS3, the Legendary Edition is available even cheaper, but DLC is still priced at £39.99.

Edited by Unforgiven: 8/14/2015 12:28:41 AMJust because you can exchange £39.99 for 62.45 US in your country. Doesn't mean anything. Buy a plane ticket to America and earn $39.99, then buy the game at that price. That's the only way you will be getting it at $39.99. Do you understand? You will not do that, so your choice is to buy it at full price for your country which is £39.99

You stupid kid.. Just what your saying makes you a retard! Simple method :- create a us account on your uk psn network get a PayPal code of $40 in dollars exchanged from PayPal and pay for the TTK and you'l save the difference. Takes you a hour to do!! I made a us account from the uk and bought loads of games cheaper and still play in my orginal account.

So why is every other version of the game (which being physical copies have higher production an distribution costs) not also at an inflated price? This is not just UK it is many others such as Australia. Look at the PSN stores for US and UK (I and many others have) and other games and DLC take into account exchange rates (not exact as rates change daily, but close enough). It only seems to be TTK where the exchange rate has become change the symbol. Amazingly though they have managed to make a currency conversion where they would lose out by doing that. By your reasoning TTK should be 39.99 Pesos in Mexico ($2.43) or AUS$39.99 in Australia ($29.40). In actuality they have priced it at AUS$70.00.

Whats wrong? Are you going to cry? Awwwwwwww
-
Nope but may not buy TTK. Other full games coming out at around same price and if Bungie doesn't want to sell games outside US, that is their call. Nice to see a mature comment when you realise your argument is invalid. If you don't want an answer where you may be proven wrong, don't ask the question.

Do you think the game will miss out on a lot of sales if UK players decide on not purchasing Destiny? I mean I think that it won't hurt Destiny sales at all. Considering that most people who are hating on Destiny are UK players to begin with.
-
Funny that most of complaining about the $39.99 price and not enough content for money is from US players. If you read the forums it is not just UK it is many other areas around the world as well. Also if you read the comments from UK players like myself, we are not the ones screaming about the game (most of us like playing it) we are complaining about the price structure which makes no sense. Those playing outside the US have also received a lot of support on the matter from people in the US who agree. And yes if people in UK and other places around the world don't buy TTK it will affect sales (simple logic). The less people that buy it the lower the profit, the more that buy it, the higher the profit. I have played since Beta and although, as we know, the game is still trying to find it's feet, it really does have the potential to be great. Yes I and others around the world could afford to pay the higher price (we work), but when we are being asked to pay a much higher price than is reasonable, with no explanation or justification, the quite simply many of us will not. Some will and have, but that it their choice as it be mine and others not to.
-
Its a reasonable price. You shouldn't have taxed our tea. Payback is a bitch eh?
-
Check your history, colonials were paying less tax than those living in UK. It was just an excuse.
