Wtf is up with people sweating their balls off in normal crucible??
Every game I go into today it's 3 thorns and 3 last words on the other team, blink shotguns, arcbolt+firebolts, just in normal control. I get Xur selling tlw contributes and hand cannon bounty today but it takes 1 game to get 15 hand cannon kills like why is literally EVERYONE using crutch weapons. Can't wait for the weapon balance patch.

Refreshing to know that the majority of the replies were in agreement. Can't wait for more variety. It'll be a pleasure going up against all you guardians. ill still play pvp till 2.0 and ill still dominate and be at the top of the leaderboards each game with underpowered weapons, and when the time comes to actually put the try hard pants on in trials ill still go flawless.

This. I hate it when people go full tryhard and teabag the entire time. I play normal crucible for fun, not to bring my kd up or whatever. However I do use tlw a lot because I think its fun to use.

I would never use a weapon just because it gives a perceived(or real) advantage. I want to have fun when I play. That said, within the confines of enjoying myself, I'm going to try to win at all times. Every game. No exceptions. I'm competitive. I don't like to lose. I don't give a shit if it's a coin toss, a video game, a battle of wits, or a friendly wager..... I. Hate. Losing. Full stop.

I played a team of 3 yesterday all using thorn and final round spears. Had a level 16 and 29 on my team and we still won lol the 16 had a 10 kill streak with shotgun and a blue pulse rifle. It was hilarious.

I was playing skirmish and the enemy team were 3 members of the clan Hawkmoon Mafia. They all swapped to Thorn like their lives depended on the game lol.

I agree can't wait for the weapon patch. My gameplay use to match the meta. It began with my purchase of Suros from Xur I was being destroyed by it in Crucible so I decided that's what I needed to play with in order to play. It was sweet music that slow tap tap tap headshot After headshot taking guardians down. Then came the weapon patch and it was adios Suros. Enter the time of the shotgun... I am sad to say I resorted to this method to play crucible. Was it OP yes and I didn't care I was matching the playstyle that was dominating crucible. I never really embraced the hand cannon it was too easy to just dash thru the maps and kill guardians. A few months back I realized I was becoming too reliant on what the current meta was so I started working with other weapons in hopes of getting to the point I can use any weapon in the crucible. It has paid off. I rarely use a shotgun anymore because well it just isn't fair. I would rather suffer than give into what the dominating meta is. My primary playstyle now is Pulse Rifles and Sniper Rifles these are more precision based and require more skill to use. I am a much better player I feel since moving away from the easy kill methods. Does it frustrate me with all the shotguns and hand cannons yes but I am not going to begrudge them for trying to compete with others it's because they are forced to do so. I am sure another meta will develop when TTK comes out and i will do my best to not become a lemming and adopt whatever the new meta is. I will try and stick with a method that requires me to work to get my kills.

Edited by Wernstrom: 8/11/2015 5:43:09 PMIt can be frustrating to be killed in a 1v1 in the time you fire one shot. But it's also rewarding to see yourself beating the tryhards using the timepiece/amplified. That being said, I've always found using TLW and Thorn to be fun. So to each their own.

My standard crucible loadout: Messenger/RD Party Crasher (I don't snipe) Truth/Uppercut Payload I'm currently trying to get comfortable with Hawkmoon so I use it now and then and for the handcannon bounty.

The only reason I use the thorn is because it dominates the crucible, and there are few rivals to it.

1 ReplyThat's the current Meta, with everything changing in September and guns not being ascend able to TheTakenKing damage cap, the incentive to grind out and level new guns is gone. It happens before every DLC, start packing away your materials, and wait to see what's relevant for prepping

That's why your will see thorn and fellwinters in every crucible match you'll ever play in. Because people find it easy to do well with those weapons and as a result are going to favor those weapons. Same goes for blink.
