Wasn't aware that they were shifting over. With Microsoft now having control over the IP, I'm actually more intrigued by the future of a potential sequel than the existing, but its still great that the existing title is being refined and worked on. This seems like a positive shift even if it will likely make mods slightly more challenging.

Edited by Smiggles: 8/7/2015 4:48:13 PMMicrosoft and Mojang representatives have confirmed there is no sequel in the works presently or anytime in the near future With minecraft's ever evolving and updating performance/structure they're more than likely to integrate popular mods into current game. Which they've already done (horses, duel wielding) But! Mojang has been working on smaller side scrolling games.

Yeah, I recognize that a sequel is...tricky business and that rushing into it won't work given the culture surrounding the title. But they will certainly want to have more monetized elements. Down the road, I could easily see them attempting to bulk up the studio and produce a sequel of sorts, but we'll see. For now, their continued support is fantastic.
