Thorn's biggest problem is that if you get tagged just once, you're at a serious disadvantage for the next 10 seconds or so. Thats straight up ridiculous for a game supposed to be competitive. Of course, Thorn isn't exactly the most op weapon ever; that title goes to Last Word for its utterly insane range and 2 shot killing potential. Thankfully these two will be nerfed shortly, hopefully this will expand the meta to include more than a handfull of power weapons to use.

  • Thorn isn't being nerfed much at all. Sure, the DoT does 1/3 damage, but now it stacks, meaning three shots can still kill. On top of that, because of stacking it will leave the target vulnerable for a precious extra three seconds.

  • Even so, one hit will no longer bring you down to dangerous levels, which should force thorn users out into the open longer where as OP put it, the gun can easily be outplayed. The lack of shield regen is gonna be the annoying part now, but my Necrochasm will punish them lol

  • I suppose it will come down to skill. Good players will still get a few shots in fast enough. I'm looking forward to seeing how it does after the change.

  • Me too. Let's see if Bungie finally learned the art of nerfing something, rather than demolishing it
