Lmao have you ppl ever played a game before? Wah I wanna use the same weapons over and over. Um have you ever played a game where they're like here use this weapon and gear forever. Whether bungie says it or not this is an mmo and no mmo lets you keep gear. You're lucky they let you ascend things in HoW. Don't play if don't understand how a game works. Oh and side note, all your grinding in every game you've ever played is for nothing because eventually your gonna stop playing or everyone else will at which point all the gear you worked for is now nothing. Just saying.
