my thoughts are that destiny's playstation specific content is wrong. i get the need to cater to your investors, but at what cost. you see i think its bad for business. when you reward one group of players simply because they own a playstation is the same as punishing the other group who owns an xbox. never mind that we still get it IN A YEAR. from a customer standpoint as one whom preordered the game with the season pass, i feel cheated. i paid for something only to find that i dont get all of what i paid for when i should. and as a customer i feel like bungie is saying "thank you for playing playstation and F**K YOU for playing xbox, you know cause we hate microsoft and all". when ideally is what bungie should have done was have console specific DLC for both consoles and in one year the combined content became available to ALL players. cause you see. it may be the investors that make the game. but its the customers that BUY the game. and when you insult half of your player base, those customers become much less likely to keep buying your future releases and DLC. maybe Bungie will actually GIVE A S**T and heed my advice in the future. cause as an insulted customer, im not feelin hot on the idea of buying the next game.

4 RepliesI didn't know people actually played on Xbox.

1 ReplyBusiness....Ethics? Hahaha good one. Seriously, you really think they have ethics in mind? Its all about the bottom line, we are nothing more than potential sales, and the quicker you learn that, the less you'll be burned.

As an Xbox player I think it's alright, not to big a deal, we will all eventually get the exclusives regardless just not as soon.

1 ReplyAt no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Platform exclusives in a multi-platform game is a shit stain on the gaming community. Let's just be real.
-
Personally I don't agree with exclusive content on multi-plat games. Go ahead and have console exclusive games but idk it just feels wrong to have multi platform games have timed content. Just mh opinion...

Edited by The Chaz12b: 8/8/2015 4:02:45 AMWell it's actually Activision that makes that call, and help put this in a little more perspective. Halo Gears of War 2 franchises that are strictly Xbox. I'm sure there are some PS fans that have wanted to try but never could because of exclusivity. Little big planet Last of Us Uncharted Play station exclusives that I will not likely get a chance to play and I really want to. Unfortunately I can't afford to buy another game console. I don't think any official numbers where released
gaming industry as a whole needs a little more transparency imo
, but with as much money Sony probably threw at Activision, I am glad that only 2 strikes and 3 weapons where with held. It could have been worse.

Funny that Microsoft is the company that started this shit in the first place so their precious system could gain traction. Congrats on being another retarded blind fan boy.

2 RepliesWelcome to the 21st century of gaming genius. Exclusives aren't going anywhere and have been in place for ages at this point.

4 RepliesDid playstation get halo? No they did not do it makes sense that they get this exclusive content

5 RepliesEdited by Marv: 8/8/2015 1:56:35 AMYou do realize Rise of the Tomb Raider doesn't come out on PS4 for a year after Xbox gets it right? Where's that in your post? Talk about a hypocrite

Here is a hint: they dont care if you dont like it and dont think it is fair nor will they ever. All they care is about money, not if YOU individually are happy or not or if you buy or not. For even if you do not others will.

Or it's just good business. I'm assuming you're a bit younger and may not be privy to behind-the-scenes business practices. The older you get, the clearer it will become that MOST companies have mutually beneficial financial affiliations that are not readily, openly public. You don't bite the hand that feeds...unless it bites you first, of course.

It's 2 strikes (one of which is bad) and a few guns... Not even that big of a deal

Ever heard of capitalization?

Oh no.. We don't get a blue armor set and a few exotics -_-

You can complain at Bungie all you want, but it's Activision that actually controls stuff like this. That said, directing complaints there would only be slightly less productive than repeatedly bashing your face into a wall.

4 RepliesI will start off by saying that I'm a XB1 owner. Exclusive are what's good for business. Bungie and Sony having an agreement with each other is good for business. It keeps both consoles competitive with each other. I don't mind that I had to wait a year to get my hands on the Hawkmoon. To the OP, just keep quiet.
-
I feel there should be no consol exclusive games and\or DLC, everyone should have the opportunity to play the same thing
-
Ok say I'm gonna laugh at your entire post Hahahahahahahahahaha So you think Sony with 5 exclusives in a game that do not drastically change the way you play is bad business ethics. Whereas Microsoft who has an entire exclusive game that PlayStation can't get for more than a year, that was originally on PlayStation for years
-
What the hell are you talking about this is how corporate America works you cater to investors, Sony paid for the rights to be able to advertise and have specific things for them. Microsoft couldn't even advertise. Activision is putting their money on sony as even cod has switched to ps4
-
It's not bad at all.. I play destiny on the xbox and I'm fine with it.. Yes it kinda sucks but I mean build a bridge and get over it

I think my reasoning is something everyone can agree on. Timed exclusives, such as Monte Carlo and Dust Palace, are bad ethics for the consumer. I understand why they happen, but such events scramble and separate what should be a unified gaming community. We could have "Destiny gamers" but instead certain criteria separate Destiny players by console, which is not something consumers really need or want. Full-game exclusives (like halo or TLoU) are a little bit more lenient and make sense. These are games that will certainly define certain consoles, and make them unique of each other. And in all retrospect, it's starting to look like Publishers, such as EA and Activision, are ruining gaming. Take CD Projekt Red, the creators of Witcher. Warner Bros had very little to do with its development, and Witcher fans are getting a lot of free DLC. Looking at Bungie with Activision, it was easy to see Activision was nosy and greedy, poking holes in the development to suit business needs (we see this through the head writer leaving after disliking Activisions plans) TL;DR: Timed exclusives are bad for consumers on both ends, and Publishers are complete assholes.
