What happens to our current 34s?
So, I understand that we're going to be changing it up for Destiny Year 2, but what happens to our current characters? Are we dropped down to Level 20, to start leveling towards 40? Do we start from our light levels? Or do we just lose them entirely? Anyone have any idea?

They're talking about the number next to your class when you look at your gear. Apparently light level is different from that level.

3 RepliesWe'll learn more in the coming weeks. Chances are we'll retain our level 34, considering the fact, when we do level we only get a Mote of Light. In that regards, I'm like lvl 100 by now. DeeJ will update us once he returns from Gamescom.

I wonder if it has anything to do with your "prestige level" that's mentioned on Destiny Tracker.

We are dropped to 20 since that is where our experience-earned levels stopped. We will then have to grind xp until 40

The Game Informer article stated that their current level 34 characters rolled into the new leveling system easily. I assume that if they got set back to 20, they would have had a different opinion.

I'm fine with Nis's or Craig's answer. I just don't want to lose everything. That'd kill for me.
