Yes. Every time you reload, or switch weapons it resets the Machine Lord counter. I fairly commonly gets two Machine Lords off a heavy drop, three wouldn't be out of consideration.

We ended up forcing them to spawn by B and C in exodus blue (I think) and I just went to town. Every 3 kills, I hid to reload then just kept mowing them down. They just kept sprinting for B, right to me
