But if you modify it like that then everybody would run it and not even stick them to wall because they would probably be able to throw it and detonate the tripmine mid-throw killing player instantly and with out warning or time to react.

tripmine lasers dont activate until set. There isnt any magnetism with tripmines so getting a stick would already be a challenge.
