This will never be changed. If you think bungie will actually ban people for it or give a crap apparently none of you played Halo 3 or Halo 2.
Bungie doesn't care only pretends to and says there supposedly banning people for cheating when in fact more and more people do it week after week. They will not ban half there community and if you don't think the number is that high then your smoking something.
Say goodbye to destiny the same way people ruined the Halo series good job cheaters.

What are you talking about? The Banhammer was fully active during Halo 2 and Halo 3.

Edited by sickfr1ction: 7/29/2015 8:31:34 PMIt wasnt tho because the only solution is banning ips or names on credit cards. They would ban 1 person they make 3 more accounts. Also you think they actually banned enough in halo 2? If so you didn't play enough. They would have literally cut there players in less then half if they didn't back then and the same goes for now and they just wont do it, to much money lost.

I played 8000 games of Halo2 in matchmaking, I know the game pretty well thanks. The banhammer was used to lock out cheaters, they squashed standby, they detected modded consoles. I think you're just talking nonsense.

It did take them a while in halo 2 to figure it all out, but I'll give it to them that they did actually fix the problem. Blows my mind they had such a good system against cheating then but can't seem to figure it out now

I guess it just comes down to tracking down the exploit and how to stop it. Destiny is far more complicated than Halo 2, so I'm guessing its a similar thing to the heavy ammo bug; they want to fix it properly without introducing more problems. Fingers crossed they fix it. ToO is an off-limits area for me until I have more faith in the cheat detection and netcode.

Maybe you just got luckier then my group they by no means squashed cheaters though. Once you got ranked over 40 you got cheated every single game.

Edited by rocketFox: 7/29/2015 8:50:57 PMDon't get me wrong I got cheated on a lot. Standby, glitchers, modders..... I ran into them all. After the Banhammer and the first major auto-update (the one that killed the Magnum) the game was a lot better but still modders and BXR everywhere. You know when modders are present when you see a flying Gauss Warthog that fires entire Scorpion tanks as projectiles.

Hahaha so true. Halo 2 was prolly my all tome favorite game but bungie has proved to well you put a true skill ranking system in place and there will be more cheaters then can be handled.

Ruthless. Straight up savage Banhammer.
