Yes, you people quitting because of weapons are clowns. You're unaware of how MMO type games work. You will grind for even better weapons in 2.0. They don't give the best weapons in the first year and call it a day; there will be more. Those new weapons will be obsolete at some point and others will come out, enjoy the ride.
Edit: The whole clown thing... I have a really good friend who quit this game because he didn't get a Ghorn yet. Guess what? I called him a clown as well ;)

2 RepliesWhile I do feel the stated weapon changes in 2.0 are (modest) hit or (unnecessary and overdone) miss, the biggest impact in looking ahead will be had by the new weapons. Unfortunately, we're left with the weapons from HoW as an example of what Bungievision thinks is acceptable weapon offerings. With that as a frame of reference, I don't hold much hope for new weapons. Add in the fact that we're about to be brought once again before the mercy of RNGesus, and the thought of spending another 400 hours grinding for the one or two reasonable new weapons while formerly perfectly good ones sit in a broken state in our vaults is just not very appealing.
-
2 RepliesSo you don't know the saying "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me"
-
13 RepliesYes new weapons will be badass. Check out my scout rifle with shank burn. Totally makes my VoC seem like a hunk of junk.
-
7 RepliesLol get a load of this guy,the real clown.still believing in Bungie talk. We haven't had any better weapons than the first vanguard weapons and the VOG weapons and it's been multiple DLC passing by so far(shank burn weapons anyone?). Yet you still bend over and let them well.........you know where I'm going.
-
4 RepliesDo people honestly not see that the reason they are doing all the Weapon rebalancing and nerfing is because they realize the weapons we already have are better then the ones in TTK?
-
5 RepliesYou are right. They realized that their new weapons pale in comparison to the weapons they already have, so the current ones must be nerfed. Why grind for a new rocket launcher or sniper when Gjally, black hammer and ice breaker are all you need?
-
4 RepliesWhen are people going to realize the nerfing of weapons happen when there are multiple complain ts about certain guns (suros and thorn). This going to cause bungie vision to look at the weapons and then go on a nerfing spree. This has nothing to do with the Taken King weapon s being shitty, but all to do the community drawing attention to weapons that need be balanced.
-
5 RepliesThe real reveal trailer The Taken Wallet DLC Are you ready for the fight of your life, Guardian? You killed Crota and Now Oryx HAS COME FOR YOUR WALLET. - Experience recycled levels, - Old enemies - Broken gameplay. - Unbalanced multiplayer - No dedicated servers. - same weapons with different colors and names or with a few exterior add on and armors that look ridiculously stupid with dumb names - A RNG system that will make you think that nothing is ever random. - No new vault space to store new weapons. Which weapons will you keep? And how many 100's will you delete? Oryx has come to wreck your wallet, Guardian. BEND OVER AND TAKE IT LIKE A CHAMP! Brought to you by Bungievision! Pre order now, year one guardians get a crappy shader, emblem, and sparrow. And to all the new guardians out there get everything, yes EVERYTHING! for half the price as our loyal community! Also you get cooler preorder bonuses that vanilla players don't.

Let them quit, less dipshits to weed out in LFG.
-
2 RepliesThe problem isn't the weapons but the game itself. It's bad....so I'm out, sort of. I hope TTK gets great reviews to pull me back in, maybe.
-
3 Replies*Pulls String* "The clown says, "Destiny is an MMO."
-
1 ReplyYup I agree with you more new weapons will come and hopefully cooler.
-
7 RepliesCan you imagine bungie saying hey just use the weapons you have for the next ten years and we will add a few legendary along the way!!!! There would be protests on the streets lol the game must evolve and with that comes new gear and better guns, in order for these new guns to be better the old ones need to changed! It ruins consistency for me in pvp but has to happen

3 RepliesDestiny is NOT MMO it's a shared world shooter
-
1 ReplyDestiny weapon balance is the worst i have ever seen in a game thats why people quit
-
13 RepliesEdited by DirtDiver_17: 7/20/2015 5:52:42 PMDestiny is an FPS even considered by Bungie. It is not an MMO because of the 2% MMO features it may or may not share! Just because MMOs do things one way doesn't require that process to happen here. Also, just because some more lack luster, shity perk, boring weapons are coming isn't a reason to be happy about the BEST weapons in destiny getting nerfed into the ground. Your opinion is stupid! How about we leave WOW in WOW and keep Destiny here not to conform to MMO entitlists!
-
1 ReplyI'm going to shard everything and walk around in my light level one underpants carrying my damage level 1 pointy stick. Lol.
-
2 RepliesYeh because the HOW weapons are what everyone is after right now :-D
-
1 ReplyEssentially they are reloading the slot machine. Problem is, they have good and interesting ones that have not been used as intended, so they are being 'adjusted'. I agree with most of it, the thing is that means the new ones will be adjusted until they are identical to what is there now. My issue is with the game and its mechanics than anything they are doing with the weapons. There is psychology at play here, more than entertainment. Putting quarters into a slot machine can be viewed as fun as well: repetitive activity with a small percentage of chance for a payout. Sound familiar? I have had my fun, but I am tired of the cycle. Many are reaching the same point. Add to this that the perceived time-to-completion of the same activities that some of us have been doing since September, the question is why keep going? TTK will be new and fresh for the first go around. I will have to do all the missions 3 times (once per toon). Then, that will be in the daily pool, as well as weekly and nightfall. The weapon changes will not change the elitism that hampers enjoyment of the game, and people who have left will probably not come back for TTK because they have realized that it will only be probably 10 hours of new stuff (and from what they have disclosed, that may be generous). Other MMOs when they add new areas, they are large maps with new missions scattered throughout, new places to explore. Most MMOs, the town map is probably larger than the entirety of the planets we have to 'explore'. They may be the largest maps Bungie has ever done, but compared to others, they are tiny and limited. Maybe D2 will be what this should have been. Afterall, the beta testing for it has almost been going for a year now...

1 ReplyPeople don't realize how many new players are still being pulled into the game. Every day I see fresh sub level 20s with next to no grimoire on patrol. The game is still growing and will continue to.
-
1 ReplyI want all the babies that are whining about the changes to go and start the 15 day trial for EVE online so they can experience what a true learning curve is like. One that expands with every expansion and massive changes come and go. The changes coming in 2.0 are minuscule compared to what other popular MMO's have brought like EVE, GW2, Runescape, Rift, even ESO. Change is an integral part of the game
-
3 RepliesEdited by BingoBangoBungo: 7/20/2015 5:28:50 PMNo, they're lowering the base stats of all guns starting in the taken King... These are literally the best we have for a while
im not quitting, just dreading the ire of new weapons that will probably pale in comparison. Then again, we haven't played with the new weapon patch so who knows
-
6 RepliesThe only reason they're nerfing old favorites is to make TK weapons more appealing so more people will buy the DLC.
-
6 RepliesLots of crying going on in this thread. I'm so close to dismantling everything I own!
