Are Esports actually real sports?

1 ReplyWell the big mobas require more team work then a lot of other "sports." However they require far less physical skills to play. I find competitive Dota fun to watch, but I don't consider them true sports.

Golfing is way more competitive. You can just feel the testosterone. [spoiler]on a serious note. Nah. It's nothing like a real sport, but it deffinitley has the competitive end to it. [/spoiler]

2 RepliesWell, no, not in the sense of real sports. They don't require you to be physically active in any real way. But that doesn't mean they shouldnt be considered competitive. They can be nationally recongized, regulated and sponsored just like physical sports, no reason why they can't. They are still enjoyable passtimes and extremely competitive. They are of their own breed.

Not in the normal sense, sports are generally conceived to be physical, competitive games, video games are competitive but not physical
