I also doubt burning the first 2 rounds at a chance for a cheap kill was abused as much as people think. If that were actually happening, efrideet owners would almost always be out of ammo to actually use the gun during a pvp match.
I believe this was just one of those perks that got nerfed by the whiners aplenty blowing it out of proportion because they got sniped.. and just because it happened to be the spear it was easy to look for something to cry about..
I have a Spear but i dont have final round on it. I have firefly, folks a plenty will continue to die from it ;)... I feel bad for those who did have final round though.

I think u underestimate how many people rely on cheap tactics for kills. All it takes is 30 seconds to charge an icebreaker and swap. Boom, half ur ammo supply right there.... Btw...i dont wanna embarrass u but....ur Spear is equipped on ur hunter....u know...the one with final round and NOT firefly on it lol

I actually just got the roll on the spear like a week ago, but since december it was firefly. Looks like its going back to firefly :P.. Btwit it is blown of out proportion. I cant tell you the amount of times ive 1 shotted someone just for missing a small ounce of health. People seem to forget the spear has incredible impact.

more often then not i enter a trials match to the sound of sniper fire as people try to get to their final round. Its been a crutch for a while. Glad to see it going

Can't tell you how many times I would see the enemy team with final round and hear them dumping shots as soon as the match started
