Hi there
Sorry to hear this, Can you please do the following...
1.check your inventories and vaults on all characters.
2. Quit destiny and reload it back up and repeat step one.
If you still can't find it then I'm afraid that it is most likely lost, and unfortunately Bungie doesn't replace any lost items under any circumstances.

Thanks for the help but i got the exotic shards from it so i think it is gone forever oh well thanks anyway
