"Naming and shaming" is considered harassment, among other things. This is clearly against the code of conduct. While your efforts to twist the code of conduct and privacy statement to your will are impressive, you will find that the moderators will not heed your request, as they are expected to follow Bungie policy, not MattP14 policy.

Edited by WorsePanther310: 7/19/2015 8:28:48 PMIt specifically says that if you post information on the forums, then it is no longer personal information. It is not shaming to call someone out for cheating, and if naming is a form of public harassment, then you sir were just harassing MattP14. You have tried to twist the Code of Conduct to your needs now, even though the point made by MattP14 was completely legitimate.

Have to say I agree with this comment.

You should run your ideas and interpretations by your supperiors or legal folks before posting your opinions as a representative of Bungie. This type of response simply shows your, and perhaps Bungie in general, lack of professionalism. Perhaps provide a more constructive and coherent response, along with specific citations of the terms, so we have a clearer understanding.

I sincerely hope that the higher ups catch on to you bungie bullies and terminate you for degrading loyal fans (the ones who ultimately puts money in your pocket). This disrespect has gone on for far too long and bungie vets (players since, and before, halo days) won't stand by and take it. Bungie, it seems like you've become this decades EA.

It seems all Bungie employees meet the requirements of asshat and dumb. Tell Luke Smith he's still a piece of shit. No wonder he goes to the movies alone. Also, DeeJ is a douche. Could you pass that along? Thanks.

Hahaha just about died.!!! Bump!!

Edited by CAN0572: 7/19/2015 9:02:47 PMPublic shaming for unsavory conduct is actually an effective way to deal with cheaters in a nonviolent manner. We do it all the time; telling your friends that your ex-wife was unfaithful, informing your coworkers to watch out for the lazy guy, the "dunce cap", and it goes on and on.... Ostracizing problem makers will happen within any group of social beings, no matter who tries to stop it. And for anyone who wants to use the current hot key word, "bullying", just remember that for the bully to even exist, his equal and opposite must exist as well, the coward.

So what else can we do, obviously bungie and activision could care less about people cheating bc there are so many doing it in crucible, so what should people do? Your company is a joke, and so is the philosophy behind it.

Edited by Curious Finger: 7/19/2015 6:56:50 PMNice way to break your own policy by naming and shaming... The culture of rampant drug abuse a Bungie must be exceptional today... moderators making asses of themselves and tool bag developers nerfing things that dont need nerfing.

Agree.

You should have run your interpretation past legal. "Naming and shaming" is not specified in the TOS. Your interpretation is your opinion and not a violation of the TOS. So get legal to specifically put naming and shaming in the TOS. Otherwise deleting posts that disagree with your opinion constitutes harassment and that is a violation of the TOS subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

The tone and attitude of this bungie (employee??? Amazing....) pretty much echos what they think of their player base these days. They would rather call this guy out in an asshat arrogant way, than catch cheaters or assure of us they are working on it. That's the whole point after all. It's ridiculous and angering.

I just read that below also... That's truly amazing... you would think he is a professional, not sounding like an arrogant butthurt brat needing to defend his turf to a paying costumer. This company is a mess. Really a mess. I'm shocked when you consider all the money they have on the line.
-
Funny, you let people run rampant... publicy shaming peoples stats ALL YEAR LONG. AND RIGHT HERE....ON YOUR FORUMS. If you going to have an official policy, you cannot pick and choose enforcement. You need to enforce it. But you dont enforce the no cheat policy either, so i am NOT surprised at all. NAME AND SHAME IS ABOUT PROTECTING YOU. NOT US. LETS BE REAL.

The terms are subjective. He is not trying to shame them, he's bringing attention to a problem that Bungie is too lazy to correct themselves (sounds familiar). Please don't turn into mods that are fascist twits like the ones that rule Bethesda's forums.
-
Agree, that's what it sounds like to me.
-
Key part of the phrase being "and shameing" A simple "these people, _______, are cheating. Bungie please take note" is in no way shaming. If the mods are too lazy to sift through the bash posts by others that come afterwards, removing or locking the thread is a pathetic way to save effort,

Agree. This is all so crazy to me.
