How about the corporate implications?
Disney will not be happy that their copyright's been violated.
How about Bungie's perspective?
It may just be a fun little addition, but it's just recognizable enough to break their story's lore for a miniscule homage.
What about the people that don't like star wars?
If they see their favorite game is a catered admirer of a franchise they don't like, they receive a soured disinterest.
General lookalikes are fine. In Halo 3 my spartan had white armor with EOD helmet because it made him look like a badass stormtrooper.
In fact, the current crucible vendor sells a helmet that looks suspiciously similar to the master chief's mk vi helmet.
But that's all they are; general resemblances. You can't just rip something like that directly from another idea. You go from being a creative storyteller to being a leech. And nobody likes the companies who create parasitic content from others.
It would merely be a tribute to the new age of Star Wars? I don't see what could be wrong with that. Perhaps just a cloak or bond with a Star Wars quote and an insignia would be fine.
