A popular third party website (while unofficial) shows play history farther back than your last 20 games. It appears from that search, that you took a break from Destiny for a while - there was no play history shown between late October, and May. The Tumbler sparrow offer was first announced, and made available, on November 18th. If you have an expansion pass, you had to log into the game with the pass, between November 18th, and January 15th. If you purchased the standalone Dark Below expansion, you had to log into the game with it between December 9th, and January 15th. Unfortunately, the period of time you were out of the game, means you did not meet all the qualifications for the sparrow.
