I'm not so sure if it's the same maker. Starbound is still in early access. But terraria is already getting a second game. (Or a major update that also updates the animations and mechanics) My only issue with starbound is it's in early access. That and last time I looked it up. They apparently were having major bugs and glitches. Don't know if it's been fixed yet though.

I have heard about starbound and seen gameplay but I think i like terraria better

Well in terraria it bored me because once you get the best armor/weapons rarely something can kill you, so i start playing starbound and its a lot more harder, and i really like more the appareance of my char in starbound , the only thing i didnt like is that you need a team to defeat bosses you cant solo like in terraria. But i respect your opinion if you didnt like it.
