All the extra stuff you are thinking about is prone to manipulation and lies. Think Crota. I can't count how many groups I never been in with a "swordbearer" who clearly lied about their qualifications. More than one article about Destiny actually encouraged lying as the only way to get sword experience. Anybody you get from LFG is a random. They could be good, they could be bad. They could have experience or not, regardless of what they claim. You run the risk of good or bad teams in LFG just as much as matchmaking. If you are going to pick up a random, you should be able to opt in to it in-game. Regardless of what television insurance commercials tell you, people lie like crazy on the internet. Any extras you think LFG gets you could just be lies too, and often are.

No, it is matchmaking with a bunch of extra steps on a different device.

It isn't matchmaking. You can kick the useless -blam!-s. With matchmaking you can't.

Kick. Repost. Type-GT-message-invite. Vs. Leave. Renter matchmaking. Seems like in-game is faster. Optional means you can LFG if you like it better. Vote-to-kick may be implemented too.

Don't need to worry about it since there won't be any matchmaking.
