The day I turned 20 on my first character, I had a blue engram turn into a legendary helm that immediately bumped me up a few levels. I was ecstatic.
The later that day, another blue engram gave me ANOTHER legendary helmet, and I thought "Oh. I guess it's just really common to get purples once you are 20. I was all excited but I guess it's not a very big deal."
Of course, now I'm rank 13 with the cryptarchs and have gotten maaaaybe 2 more purples from blue engrams. So it was just insane luck that first day.

Haha wow. That is a lot of engrams to turn in! I've only been playing since HoW came out, so I'm pretty far behind most day 1 players.
