I mean, thanks for the video that only stated the obvious. Psychology is used In almost all gaming (and marketing) mediums. That's why "freetoplay" games like candy crush that start off easy af with beginning levels end up taking thousands of dollars from a lot people. That's why cereal and snacks are placed in grocery stories at kid height. This is old news. Even if you didn't know how BF skinner's operant conditioning model of behavioral psychology worked, you could have inferred this game was only after our money the minute activision's name appeared. TLDR; tv shows movies and now video games are not SOLELY for the purpose of bringing enjoyment anymore. It's a money game that plays off of people's wants and desires.

So obviously you are well versed with the topic at hand and this thread isn't for you, be that as it may most un-intelligent gamers may not be as fluent as you. Heretofore (<---Look how fancy I am XD), your restating what I already knew. Also, I wouldn't need a TLDR for a short reply, I feel sad (not for you, but for the people that may have made you consider such a thing) that you would think you'd need that.

  • Refer to TLDR. It's common knowledge. They want your money and they know how to do it. Whether or not they care about game quality they aren't doing it for free
