• Yeah things are usually a bit more here but to use a recent example the Arkham Knight season pass is $40 on US PSN and £33 on UK PSN. TTK is overpriced for no reason.

  • This! I was talking to someone about the price of TTK the other day and as an experiment I went to the store and said, we pay £32 (or what ever it was) yours will most likely be $40? Spot on. Yes we pay a bit more than just a direct exchange rate amount but TTK is an utter joke.

  • Sorry to let you down but you can now buy PS4 consoles for £280 here in the UK. When they came out they were only £350. Not sure on American pricing. Also as mentioned countless times in these threads already, we are talking about a digital download product which is different to physical products.

  • If i buy batman in a store i pay the same on psn. That are things what we can't Blaim bungie or Activision. We can blaim all Gamers who buy digital and buy Digital Season Passes. In Austria i still pay 400 Euro for a Ps4 If you don't wana play Destiny TTK, wait for reviews. But 40bucks is not expensive compared to a Season Pass

  • You're missing OP's point. $40 may be a good price. That's £33. But Bungie/Activision Want UK people to pay more for same product. Don't say it's exchange rate, import tax etc. When other games offer a relative price adjustment Bungievision just grabs money

I'm not sure if you don't know what you are talking about or if prices in Austria really are that bad, but here in the UK, you pay MORE for a digital copy of a game than you do for a physical copy (PS4) Here is some evidence to back it up: FIFA 16 Pre-Order PSN Store: http://bit.ly/1KJIUQ4 (£54.99) Game Retail: http://bit.ly/1NO826A (£44.99) Sony have been pushing for customers to switch to digital but currently their pricing structure does not make it a better option. With the costs of manufacturing/producing discs, sleeves and distributing to stores removed, I cannot see how they are justifying charging more for digital copies of games. Also...
But 40bucks is not expensive compared to a Season Pass
The season pass was actually only £35. So this one expansion (as big as they claim it to be) is more expensive than the 2 DLC season pass.

  • If you're talking about the Destiny season pass it was $35 in the US, so if it was £35 for you, how is that any different than the taken king being £40 now? Not saying it's priced right, I know a lot of non us customers pay ridiculous prices, but this really doesn't seem like a destiny or Bungie issue.

  • I'm not saying any digital pricing has been right. For me digital pricing has been overpriced for a long long time. I would only say that based on their previous pricing structure of charging £55 for the full Destiny digital game, charging £40 for a digital expansion which doesn't contain 50% of the full game content is a rip off. The maximum price the TTK should have been sold for digitally is £20, maybe £25 at a push. Physical copies is a different story due to costs I have previously mentioned.

  • I know here, selling digital copies for less and undercutting the retail stores carries complications with it. Mainly because since the retail stores are such a huge percentage of sales, pissing off the retail partners and losing the marketing, or just having them not order the stock would cost them tremendously in terms of sales. If gamestop and Walmart didn't have their prominent displays, and instead only ordered a few copies to tuck away in a corner because PSN undercut what they were able to sell a copy for, that's millions of lost revenue. It's the same reason why a lot of times digital games are unlocked at Pacific time. It screws over east coast buyers by not getting at midnight, but the alternative is to either work out with the brick and mortar stores letting them sell early, or release digital late.

  • I agree that selling digital games cheaper will have an impact on retail stores but unfortunately that is the world we live in nowadays. Things are moving to online and stores are becoming irrelevant. If they wanted to do something about it, they could sell the basic game and dlc online at the cheaper price but give exclusives and extras to the retailers to encourage customers to spend more to get a physical copy with extras. But selling the same digital content at the same price as physical content when the costs involved are miles apart is pathetic.

  • They did that here with the digital Guardian edition. It was $90 and came with the game and season pass. Or $100 for the physical limited edition that had some physical bonus stuff, art book I think. So I'm not sure why they didn't do that now with ttk CE. It should be cheaper without the strange coin replica and stuff. Only reason I can guess is since they discounted the price of everything so much for new players, they had to make up the costs on us existing ones. They probably knew the game and 3 expansions wouldn't sell well for $80, which is reasonable where it should be given the price of just ttk. I don't mind the $40 though. In the end it all comes down to what people will pay. If a lot do, the price will stick, and if not it'll go on sale after a couple months.
