some of that is right, but when your lead creative designer and the creative driving force of the entire game leaves your company 8 months before the release of the game, it throws a kink into plans. Whatever the reasons for the changes, Bungie made several mods to the story after their lead designer left- maybey he owned some of the rights? or they wanted to go a different way and that is why he left? IDK
Changes happen all of the time. Just seeing what this game was like at release and what it is like now is totally different. The noobs have no idea what the loot cave is or how badass autos used to be or how hard the grind to level 30 was or.............

Joe wasn't only the creative driving force behind the game. He was the creative driving force behind the studio as a whole. I think it's safe to say joes writing made halo and halo made bungie. Joe left and instead of delaying and working out a story they said forget it we already have there money. Bungies brain left with joe and there heart with Marty. And we're left with deej.
