But wait, who cares?
New dances are neat but if you don't want to pay for them then don't, it's not beneficial in any way. Not buying the emotes won't stop me from enjoying the game

I've only seen them used in a helpful way twice, one is when people show you where ether chests are, the other is dancing to get the poison off you in skolas. Both of those rely on players though, and really they're pretty useless lol
