The alleged shooter, Francisco Sanchez, 45, fled the scene, but officers found him in front of a restaurant in the area about an hour after Steinle was shot. Sanchez was on probation in Texas at the time of the shooting, and he has been formally charged with Steinle's murder, according to authorities.
It was not clear what he was on probation for.
"There does not appear to be any connection between the victim and the suspect," San Francisco Police Sgt. Mike Andraychak told ABC News affiliate KGO. "At this point, it appears to be a random shooting incident."
Sanchez has been previously deported five times to his home country of Mexico and his criminal history includes seven prior felony convictions, four of which involve narcotics charges, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Does no one see the problem here? He was on probation, meaning he committed a crime, was caught, charged, found guilty, and remained in this country after being deported 5 pervious times with 7 felonies on his record.

I can find a criminal to fit any demographic. It's not hard. One person doesn't represent an entire group of people.
-
There's one demographic that is made up of all criminals, illegal aliens. The fact that they entered the country in a crime.
-
Indeed, but categorizing them as rapists and murderers is an entirely different thing.

Yeah, I don't know why he went there. I would have started with habitual drunk drivers.

What about their children that were brought over as minors without consent. Grew up here and have no knowledge of their country of origin?
-
Sucks to have shitty parents. Doesn't change anything.
-
Sucks that that such a great country has so many shitty people. You not the immigrants. One of my best friends growing was in that same predicament. You can't find anyone that loves this country more than him. He was brought over as a kid since he was 2 years old. He got everything resolved and he's doing good married good job about to buy his first house. Funny to find people saying they love this country and at the same time hate everyone in it.
You not the immigrants.
That's right, I not the immigrants, and if you want to throw anecdotes out so can I. I know a girl brought here illegally as a child that does absolutely nothing besides work 20 hours a week at a restaurant, spits out kids one after another, and collects the welfare from them. The fact is laws are not laws if they're not enforced equally. If a kid has shitty parents that take him out of school and force him to sell crack, do we give him a pass when he grows up and continues to be a criminal? I mean he was forced at a young age to do it by his parents, he doesn't know any other way of life.

Edited by Negative Space: 8/6/2015 3:13:01 AMThat's fine I know the most neck people you'll ever want to meet they live of welfare and food stamps. That's them and not their whole group. On your other point everyone is responsible for their actions yes. Drug dealers deserve drug dealer punishments. But I don't credit these children with that crime when they were brought without having their consent. Socially they are Americans. All they know is America.
