I agree.
This is a loot based game...
Combining the attitude of "you shouldn't store all of your loot that you got after hours and hours of grinding in a limited vault space" with "you can't keep it and use it anyway" makes me wonder what the end game really was intended (after removing revenue).
If everything is undone in 3 months, why do it? I like to enjoy games over time, and evolve with it... Not to be obsolete and less impactful.
I liked the improvements of HoW, by far.
PoE, ToO, new gear, new weapons, reforging, ascending old gear, ascending old weapons (I learned this AFTER I dismantled Devil You Know). So much right with the update...
I keep my weapons now (as much as I can), because I have no idea what Bungie will nerf/buff/limit next. The more prepared I am, the more I'm rewarded for grinding it all in the first place. I have a hard time understanding the logic behind the vault space, and the possibility of NOT ascending weapons. Some of my concern is the unknown within Bungie themselves:
Here is ascendant energy
then...
No more ascendant energy
Here is etheric light
No more etheric light (speculation)
You get to upgrade your weapons...
You can't upgrade your weapons
You have strong weapons...
Your weapons are too strong, we had to 'fix' that glitch.
You can keep your weapons in your vault
You can't keep them all, just the ones you think might not be nerfed in the not-so-distant future.
How long until the vault isn't big enough to keep only 1 of each exotic piece of armor.... (now that I think about it - did that happen already?) Should the vault that stores various types of armor and weapons not actually hold even enough of the supposedly exotic pieces?
Something is wrong, and if we don't ascend our old stuff (or improve in a similar path of HoW), with some sort of consistency, I'm out as well... Or will skip a year or two, jump right back in, and be maxed out in a few days or weeks anyway. I really enjoy the game play. But, unfortunately, my mistake was thinking there was an end-goal. Without knowing what that is, I can't seem to focus on any particular aspect.

Exactly it is tough to trust Bungie's final word. They tell us all VoG weapons are frozen in their attack values and now we get to upgrade everything. DeeJ basically tells us we don't need older weapons and then wipe out his 365 Shadow Price in the reveal. With low vault space and giving us mixed signals I would not delete my old stuff even if TTK doesn't let you. If I run out of space I guess I stop playing instead and I not a true hoarder like other players. I got a great roll on my NL Shadow which caused me to delete my B-Line Trauma and Deadshot Luna. That also being said I did find new favorites with this game. Bungie just needs to stay creative when making new weapons. Another trust issue was nerfs/buffs. ..How many pulse rifles did I dismantle before they were buffed? I don't have trust issues as of now but if Bungie goes back on ascension I will have serious trust issues. Mostly they have improved the game. But taking two steps back after they took one forward is a serious issue.

Edited by OLMANCABOOSE: 6/29/2015 8:31:59 PMSo true, I can never just delete gear again after this ascension thing. I was so bummed about some of the stuff I would of kept. Devil You Know and Shadow Price, and Super Vox PLO being 3 of them. And various snipers that all kick the crap out of any of the new low impact ones. I cant see me deleting FB even if it is obsolete because I don't trust them not to let us do it in the future. They need to make a concrete decision to let us keep ascending and let us know ASAP.
