How can you argue that people arguing about game developers' policies are pointless, in light of what has happened?.....
The uproar after the "Luke Smith interview" etc forced Bungie's hand into offering the bonus items as a separate purchase to the collectors edition (albeit at an overinflated price). It blatantly DOES work.

Sure, Activision complied with a request to separate the cosmetic items into their own package, but at the end I the day Activision decides how deeply they want to penetrate your wallet.

Did any of the pricing change? Nope, all they did was give people a way to spend more money by upgrading their initial $40 purchase. If you can't understand that bungie won with this whole "PR disaster" then i don't know where to start. People crying instead of just not buying it allowed and will continue to allow bungie to make more money doing this in the future. So keep thinking it "worked". All I see is a group of people spending an additional $20 per download while barely gaining anything.
