Bruh...
Who cares what others think?
People say that thorn requires no skill, that BS is a weak excuse, give your wife or any gamer who doesnt play FPS a thorn and run them through crucible, judge the results.
By that very logic, an unskilled person would be able to start wrecking, that is not the case.
Now if the rebuttal is, well they have to have some FPS knowledge, then that goes against the very same logic they applied in the sense that IT DOES REQUIRE SKILL to use.
People just look for ways to bring in excuses when going up against Thorns.
Truth is, the hate mail I get is from, TLW! But never Thorn, interesting huh?
I agree that crucible is unbalanced, but if you earned your Thorn and used it with great success, keep using it.
People will be salty about handcannons while using handcannons.
You want to know what will happen next? Whatever major nerfs an buffs are coming down the pipe will eventually lead to another weapon that people will complain about, while no mention of Thorn anyway in sight.
To hell with these groups, if I or you want to use an OP weapon, GO FOR IT. GET YOU'RE KILLS AND ENJOY THE SALTY TEARS.
Nobody is going to stop you, what? They will send hate mail or gang up on you in the forums? Lmfao, words bruh, nothing but words from kids.
If you feel that much about it, then start off with a legendary an if the scene is nothing BUT thorns an TLWs, bust out yours.
I always start off with either Jewel or The Scholar, OP weapons on their own, but if the scene switches up, switch up too if it becomes over bearing.

Fallacious Argument

Agree to disagree. Weapon is available in the game, whether the community is split on the subject or not, doesnt dictate anybody from using said weapon in any game mode. What is happening here is an artificial system in place that somehow dictates what weapons are scrubby and what weapons are not. That is an absolute BS view on the issue and unfortunately it happens in the realms of FPS. I buy a burger, but can't put mustard on it because only scrubs put mustard on their burgers. I bought my burger and nothing prevents me from putting however much mustard on want on my burger and nobody is going to tell me otherwise. I bought this game and EARNED my Thorn on my Hunter, therefore I will use it to its fullest extent, with a swift and powerful "thorn" up my enemies áss. I can counter a Thorn user with my Jewel or Scholar, I play both spectrums of the weapon, infact I make it a point to use a Legendary first before the scene turns in a garden out in the midwest...in other words, Thorns and Last Words.

I get your point, but what most people who are like yourself wont come to understand is that you are good at pvp. Beating a thorn user with the jewel which I think has a lesser fire rate is something to be proud of(I am aware that the jewel is a good hand cannon). Don't you see it as a problem that entering a trials match you expect to meet a team of thorns and a final round sniper or OP shotgun? If not then I will pay heed to your words and agree to disagree.

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree. But that all boils down to Bungie balancing its crucible. Are we really at fault here? Bungie ultimately holds the keys to balancing yet, for whatever reason, they choose to wait. I for one wanted a ToO mode that is strictly Legendaries, in other words, distinguish the boys from the men metaphorically speaking. But sadly its not going to happen, perhaps a ToO with certain weapon restrictions.

Damn fine words! Well said.

Thank you. That was well said. I primarily use a red death and still a vex. The last iron banner I hear my team complain about the thorn and then complain about another gun. I'm not the greatest, but so what ever gun you get beat by, well you got beat.
