Thought about buying it.
Then I saw a ton of things I didn't like in gameplay footage and decided against it.

It's actually pretty good. I've spent 40+ hours so far, and I love it

Everyone and thier mother has told me I should be playing this game but I have yet to see anything that would make me want to buy it.

It's not as great as the hype train. It's good, but not the game changer people want it to be. Although, gameplay videos don't really do it justice. The combat looks worse on video than how it feels with the controller in your hand. That said, the combat still is still below average for this style of fighting. It's really a question of... do you like story- driven RPGs, or not. Because there is a lot of story, and a mountain of cutscene conversations. Very similar to Bioware games in that regard.

I like RPGs. Mostly JRPG's though but I did enjoy Mass Effect. I've detailed all of the issues I have below if you want to see them. [spoiler]I just don't really see the world of The Witcher as appealing. Low Fantasy doesn't really resonate with me and from what I've seen I don't really like Geralt and his voice reminds me of Aiden Pierce. (Which is not a good thing.) He kind of comes off as a Gary Stu to me. Walking around, "Lord of the Rings: Polish Version" and listening to a ton of white peasents talk with regional British accents is sort of full and I don't like how "Doom and Gloom" the game is. The whole "Morally Grey" angle is also a bit of a turn off for me, It makes me feel like the game is waiting to break my kneecaps and ruin the game for me if I make the wrong decision. I'm that guy who would avoid every conversation because he's afraid he'll get the bad ending and who will reset if he makes a bad decision. But given the size of the game, that isn't an option. I don't want to have to go through a checklist before I can fight something. This seems like another opportunity for the game to punish me because I didn't jump through the right hoops or rub the right lube on my sword. It seems restrictive and like the game doesn't want me to play my way. Not even gonna bother with sex and I could do without the game shoving nudity in my face right from the get go like it's trying to impress me or something. I Romanced characters in ME because I came to love thier personalities and liked the dynamic between them and Shepherd, and given my feelings on Geralt, I doubt I will be as interested. I've heard the Controls are clunky and I'd rather not have the "Mustard Rice" giving me shit for playing on Xbox given My PC is dead and could never have even dreamed of running a game like this when it was still functional. Not saying it's a bad game, just listing what I saw as negatives upon inspection. Feel free to prove me wrong though given I haven't actually played the game and only have a limited perspective.
