My question is the relationship between the Hive and Vex; and the relationship between Oryx and the Vex.

There is no friendly relationship if that's what you're asking about, none that I've seen at least

They seem polar opposites in methods; beastly, grotesque rituals and monstrosities versus machine precision, but pursue the same goal of destruction.

They don't really peruse destruction. Hive ritualisticly devour and destroy light. The vex... they're less easy to understand, but it doesn't seem that's their end goal. Assimilation to the universe, ascension to godhood, possibly destruction of the traveler? But not necessarily light. I've written more on the vex, you can search AnonPig and find my archive, "Rasputin caused the collapse to save us" and "the traveler didn't pick us the vex did" both consist of them.
