Not everyone has disposable income or a physical disc. I have neither. But i have love for bungie. Doesnt mean i'll let it rob me blind.
I have a digital copy. Are u telling me i should delete it and get the collector's edition?
C'mon man. Lets just be honest. Lets just be real.

Edited by Sour Diesel: 6/26/2015 4:01:36 AMSaw some what you said below also. What you don't understand is that the collectors edition is the one year copy. Game companies always do this. Handsome jack collection comes to mind. All the dlc plus the last borderlands also for 60 bucks. Uncharted game of the year edition. All dlc plus game. 60 bucks. I could go on and on. If you play day one that's happens. You buy the content at its new price value.

Sad but true. Now i think they underestimated the will of the loyal guardians who would take offense for not having some emotes or shaders or collectible stuff that would be attainable without buying the CE. They dont fully grasp the reaction of those early adopters and took it for granted. Hence all this dismay. Everybody has a point about the pricing, the TTK the CE. Still, this was not foreseen by Bungie😑 that we'd be this unhappy.
-
I agree. Like Jim the Admin said- if you can't afford it- that seems to be the go to line for those of us who are dissatisfied with the price. Some can't afford it. True. But the rest of us can but don't want to afford it. We don't feel we are getting our money's worth. Bungie thought we would - how did they say? "Throw money at the screen" and meanwhile belittle us as whiners at the same time- consumerism doesn't work that way. The seller is grateful for the consumer. Not the other way around. In this shaky economy - the consumer is King. (And this one won't be taken). I think this is something their market research didn't calculate.
-
I've said it before. Just because you can't afford a game does not mean it is unreasonably priced. It is very reasonably priced, and competitively as well. You want to be real? If your income can't afford gaming as a hobby, then don't do it.
-
I think you are missing the point. It's not the 40. It's the fact that for those of us who have been playing since September, we already spent 59 on the game plus 30 on the pass and now another 40. 130 in total. If you're a newb, you can buy the game the two expansions and the King for a whallopin sixty bucks. That is less than half of what I paid. For twenty more you get Destiny souvenirs and three exotic weapons! Did you research the three different purchase packages on Bungie? But as a "loyalist" who spent 90 already and about to drop 40 more I get a shader and a sparrow. 80 gets you exotics and real life souvenirs while 130 gets you a shader oh and a sparrow. Ooooo. Not to mention some of us have to pay for the King more than once. (Due to multiple consoles). 130x3 and all we get in this house will be a shader and a sparrow. Woo the F hoo

If you buy a car the second you drive it off the lot it depreciates in value. If you adopted early, then you paid more. That's is how every game works. I bought Halo 2 for $50 bucks back in the early 2000s, I'm not gonna shit my pants because it's worth $5 now. This has happened to every single game ever that remained popular, the value decreases. That's how it's always worked. Why is this so hard to grasp.
-
Really? You're going to compare purchasing Halo in the early 2000s to five bucks today? I've been buying games since Ninetnedo Cube and Sega Genesis. I understand depreciation as well. Not a 1/2 price slap in the face less than 9 months after the first release. Especially with one of their earlier posts back in November boasting of their surprise at how the game has been running only three months and people are still logging in to play as much if not more than when they first bought the game. So with 9 months in and we are still playing, despite the nerfing, despite the server issues, despite hackers- I think we "loyalists" deserve a little more return loyalty from Destiny. / Bungie. There is also something called price protection as well. If you buy something at full price and it suddenly goes on sale- usually the store we refund you the difference. Now you mention depreciation of a car. That is a machine that wears out from use. A video game that is expanding doesn't depreciate. A video game that depreciates in price is because the public doesn't want to buy it anymore. So it no longer has value. Depreciation is the wrong analogy my friend. It's an illogical argument. Again 130 vs 60. Is wrong and bad for business. Everyone can bury their head- and say we are whiners but you continue that course and your precious game will depreciate just as you said.
-
price protection is like 30 days at most and you can already buy the base game of destiny for about $20. This happens with games ALL the time, game of the year edition with all the dlc for about half the price of the early adopters. The money you spent was for the time you played it. Sure a noob can get it for half price, but they aren't gonna put in 1000 overnight. For me Destiny's value is at about $0.06 per hour which is maybe the best value I've ever gotten out of a game.
-
It didn't suddenly go on sale, though. It's been nine months. Depreciation is the only argument. You're pissy and hopping on a bandwagon. The UK pricing is a real issue, but even that is lessened by the cost of living and dollar strength differences. You know it's the truth. This is a great deal for new players and you know it. It's a smart move by Bungie to get more players in and keep the game relevant. You're upset because other people don't have to spend as much money as you chose to spend 9 months ago. your argument is this "It is not enough that I should succeed, others should fail". I got into this game and pre-ordered so I got access to the beta, and I got emblems for that. Ugly emblems, granted but they are special ones. The same is happening for people that have paid full price. Welcome to MMOs. New content is released and old content becomes irrelevant. You don't like it? Don't purchase the game. Don't use your loud mouth, use your wallet. I'm casting my vote, I suggest you do the same.
-
Edited by RiVen152: 6/26/2015 4:02:39 AMOk. It is a great price for new players but why do hey get better stuff for being a new player. Hopping on what band wagon? I read the advertisement and am pissed. My thoughts not anyone else's. Are you not able to have a good debate? I have spent a lot of money as a "loyalist" and am bothered that they use that term to make me pay double. I think the King should be free to me. Or 10 bucks and I get some shaders and whatever goodies. 40 bucks should get me the collectors version. And fully aware of real money problems. But that's not what this forum is for. It's for Destiny not your real problems. And back to my original statement I am taking this "loud mouths" wallet and casting my vote. I will not be making my multiple purchases. Ps. Your posting here too sir. So your mouth is just as loud
-
You want free things because you think you deserve them. You are not special, you are a consumer and a customer. Step out of your anger and realize the pricing scheme may still change but that the TTK is priced ina new market. It should be better than the other two DLCs. I shouldn't have to keep saying this, but nothing you've said is original, join up with others and vote with your wallet. That's the only thing that will be heard.
-
See that's where you are wrong. As the consumer I am special. It's my money. And if you want me to separate from my money you have to make it worth while. Your product is shit till I give my money for it. I am angry again over the slap in the face - it seems the noobs get more for their purchase then I do. That is my opinion. If you think that is wrong well good for you. And to the comment about the handsome collection wasn't this the first time that borderlands was going on the ps4 in what 18 months. That's yes worth it. Same for uncharted. I've bought all the tomb raiders and gran tourismo over the years. I get it. I have bought a lot of games - good lord all the damn COD collecting dust on a shelf. Or even better some of my games are the freebie for the month. I'm not a ten year old spending her allowance. I get the pricing I buy games- for some 30 years I have been buying games- Xbox PC and Playstation- even a Wii at one point. But none of the games purchased and repurchased (final fantasy series) that I recall was a back to back like this. I am bothered that as a person who only needs the King- I pay 40 and get a sparrow. I don't have the option to upgrade my collection like the others do. I should be offered the King for free / the King with a few limited goodies for 20 or 30 and the King collector for 40 or 50. I don't have that option unless I buy the ENTIRE GAME all over again. The only option I have is 40 for the King and a gift or two. I want the three exotics that the others get. I think we too should have a tiered upgrade option like the noobs do. A tiered option that comes with cool gifts.
-
"all the COD collecting dust"..."none of these were a back to back purchase" bro pls.
-
No, see, why do you deserve $40 USD worth of content for free? That's the question. Why should you get a full expansion for free when the market has clearly shown that the customers are willing to pay as much. A vocal minority is a vocal minority. You aren't special, not as a customer or a consumer. You paid more because you're an early adopter, you paid more without ever receiving the promise that your game would hold the value that you originally paid for it. You paid for it without the promise of free DLC, without the promise of anything other than it being a game. So where exactly do you have room to complain? You don't. Shouldn't have bought a 2015 Hyundai, should've waited a year and bought a 2014 Hyundai off a lemon lot for 1/6 the original cost.
-
Ok. Well. I was saying (implying) all of us loyalists - the market says- what the market says and what reality is isn't always the same. Some of the people like me (the unoriginal one) are the market and we are saying no money for you. Not buying the King. I will wait for Battlefront and buy that instead. So you say its worth it for you. Ok. So buy it. Get your little sparrow and shader. I am happy with what I have. Besides - i am bored already with the bounties and rehash of story. BUT LOVE LOVE LOVE the POE arena styled fighting. I can spend all day in there- just for the fun of shootin' stuff. Most of my fire is because this is all news to me. I don't stay current with news releases. I depend on my clan mates and their idle chatter during a game for what's new in the game world. Tonight they were fun chatting in the app- and while checking my messages I decided to see the weekly update for myself. As I said, when I checked the pricing bundles I was happy with my "loyalist" offer- till it seemed that newbies got more - a lot more for a lot less. I won't buy anymore. Hopefully here's enough of us in the "market" that will "speak" together and Bungie will hear. I account for six votes. (Six upgrades that won't be purchased).
-
Ok wanted to add this - because maybe it will clarify. On the collectors package you get 18 items for 80 bucks. That makes each item worth 4.4 dollars. So I am just buying the King and I get one shader one scooter and one emblem. Four things. At 4.4 per thing I should spend roughly 17 dollars. If I were buying just the newbie package for 60 that's four games no perks. 15 per game. So let me buy just the King with no perks for 15. See what I am saying. At 40 for us loyalists it's ten per item. I don't want a life time purchase but I want a fair one. Maybe I want the collectors edition but don't need three of the four games listed. So sell me a collectors edition that is just as good a bargain for me as it is for a newbie. All of yall arguing with me over pricing when I'm talking about what's for sale. Here is the 80 dollar version. Why can't they sell a loyalist version of this package????? For double the money you get more than four times the content. While the game and expansions are a waste for us who have been playing a while. That's all I'm saying and find it hard to believe that this logic makes yall angry. NOTE 3 shaders, 3 exotics, 3 new emotes. That's a lot of perk- more than we were ever offered and we paid more. I and the other upset people have a valid complaint. And we are worth being heard. Just coz i cant afford to eat filet mignon all day all week, doesnt mean i dont want it or wanna get it once in awhile.. In comparison to TTK, its only worth it if its all meat and no fat. If TTK was a full on new destiny 2 game. Yeah id pay for that. But 3/4 of it, i already have.. COMMON SENSE......... Nuff said. Watch me whip.
-
Except TTK isn't an all day all week filet mignon meal. It's your once a month really nice dinner cost. If $40 is gonna bankrupt you then maybe Gaming shouldn't be in your budget.
-
Im okay with $40. But whats not cool is $60 for everything. Im just a really frugal gamer haha
-
Well it's $40 for the base DLC.
