Will flat out ruin the game.

How? My idea removes the following; People paying for items People getting gear by trading worse items And more

Trading will make it so you don't have to do any weekly things to get items... You won't have to "work" for anything if you can call it work. Don't have something oh just trade something for it. You can get anything you want just like that. People will get everything and have nothing to play for.

Except you still need an exotic in the first place, I doubt people will just continuously trade their single exotic.

By now the amount of duplicates people have it will ruin the game. It's easy to get a random exotic. But to get the exact one you want can be difficult that's a factor that keeps lots playing.

Most people just dismantle extras.

Even then. You get 5-6 exotics a week. Most of them duplicates. Give it a week or two. An people will have every gun no problem. Giving them no reason to play the game. Causing them to leave. Which is something bungie doesn't want.

You must be extremely lucky, I've never actually gotten an exotic.

Extreme lucky? Haha hell no. Lucky would be +10 exotics a week. See I just looked at your stats as soon as you said that and found out why you think this is a good idea. You're not even on end game level. You don't realize how easy it is to get exotics. Let me break it down for you VoG. - 2 chances. One of those two may give two exotics CE- 2 chances Nightfall 1 chance PoE 1 chance if you do petras bounty ToO 2 chances Now we're not including xur even though he's the exotic vendor and the possibilities with him are great Anyways. Thats 8 chances of getting an exotic. Most people have 3 characters That's [i]24 chances for exotics a week[/i] 5-6 exotics a week out of 24 chances is common for the average end game player 10+ is lucky Now let me remind once more that were not including xur and his engrams. Or the actual base destiny with the legendary engrams and activities.

Yes some do but not all. And it's easy to get duplicates if you have lots of exotics.

That would be an issue but could be fixed.
