Currency Conversion

To start, I'm not overly offended by a $40 price tag for an expansion. Assuming the content is worthwhile. What I am offended by is the currency conversion (or lack of) that has been occurring. I'm based in the UK. We use a foreign currency to Bungie called Sterling or Pounds. As it currently stands, the expansion here in digital form is a straight £39.99 in the UK. That's $62 to those in the US. So, why is The Taken King $20 more than the US release in the UK? It sure isn't VAT (20% sales tax). Will the release be dropping down to a more realistic price point or should those in the UK and other affected areas like Australia and the rest of Europe save our second world currencies and invest in a new game (which is pretty much the same price as the DLC).

  • Same way cereal in my state is 3 bucks a box and in new York cereal is like 6 or 7 bucks they make more so they pay more. It's dumb but that's the world we know today. Lol

    • Isn't there a lot of price gouging on games in the UK? I've heard games release at different prices, where in the states, ours typically release at $60 unless it's a special edition. I bet rock band is crazy expensive there.

        • I have family in Europe. Everything is more expensive. But they also make more there. So it balances out. Let's say we get paid $9 and hour here. You would get 9 pounds over there. If my math is correct, that converts into $14.76.
