20$ Cosmetics. For the cost of an expansion. People will buy it, Bungie will think this is an acceptable business model, Activision will masturbate furiously over their new stream of revenue from this package, and the player base will continue to lap up the juices that drop down from the conjoined fap session of bungie and Activision and call it a day.
I get why they made it 20$, to keep their C.E relevant.. To me, it just seems like they are trying to reiterate Lukes point in the interview. He was right. People will pay, and the 20$ price tag is a win/win for them. Veterans who complained can now buy the emotes. Those who Do, give them more money.

Yes people will pay. I'm glad that they have the chance to buy something that they value. I'm failing to see how it hurts you.

Edited by Klown: 6/25/2015 7:25:15 AMBecause it proves to bungie that they can jack up prices for less content, so when bungie does come out with something that I actually want, they will look back on previous trends and charge an exorbitant amount. It doesn't hurt me, it hurts the quality of content. If people value 20$ for cosmetics, what's to say bungie won't charge 40$ for the dlc after taken king for half the content that was in crotas end. Just because some people value a box of used tampons doesn't mean its worth 40$ Don't be so near sighted.

You're not considering demand though. Just because some people will pay $20 for cosmetics doesn't mean everyone will. I think it's safe to say more TBDs or HOWs have been sold than these cosmetics packages will sell. A rational consumer values content more than cosmetics, since, after all, what good are cosmetics without activities to utilize them within? What's more likely is Bungie and Activision will draw a more relevant comparison between past and future DLC by comparing future content-based DLC with past content-based DLC. If Bungie/Activision tried to sell content equivalent to half of TBD for $40, most of us would say "Hell no. Look at what $20 got us in TDB. We're not paying $40 for half of that!" Obviously some of us would, but demand would absolutely go down. Even though price and profits would go up, decrease in demand would tell Bungie Activision their price point is failing. Simply put, both the consumers and the suppliers will compare apples to apples. Not content DLC sales to cosmetic DLC sales. Your theory is right, you just neglected an important factor.
