I think a ship interior with said features would be more relevant similar to mass effect or KOTOR.

The ships are all different sizes and many are quite small. An apartment would work better.

I understand that. That would also motivate people to collect certian ships etcetera. The ship you have would suddenly matter. You don't need a ton of room to have a vault inside a ship. The better the ship maybe the more amenities it could have.
